This has been an argumentative question that has been around for years but steel is still being in use now and will be too future, unlike books, CDs, DVDs, that are truly sunset industries that might be extinct in future.
Unless there are products that can replace steel, it is here to stay as steel has always been the backbone of any economy or country’s development in infrastructures, buildings (commercials & residential), transportation networks, mode of transports and etc.
Even after steel’s discovery as a metal more than 300 years ago, it is still in its growing stage and will continue to grow globally. The only changes are how businesses and companies evolve in their way of buying and selling steel, breaking the supply chain and going global increasing the demand for steel.
Started as a partnership between two partners as a small steel stockist and trading business.
One of the partners left the partnership and Mr Chin became the sole proprietor of Hock Cheong Hardware & Company.
After helming more than 40 years in the steel business on behalf of her husband, Mrs Chin decided to retire and sell her shares to a team of experienced steel stockists.
Since then, Hock Cheong Hardware Co. has expanded the office space in Ang Mo Kio and expanded the warehouse space at Pioneer Rd.
Therefore, we are confident that Hock Cheong Hardware will be able to go into a new phase with our young but experienced, dynamic team.
